The VA met with Surrey Council road maintenance department and they have agreed to repaint all existing yellow lines and road junctions around The Village where faded. It is hoped that this work will be carried out in the Autumn with minimum disruption. In addition 3 applications have been made to Tandridge Council for new sections of double yellow lines at the following locations:

- Opposite junction of Stirling and Weston Drive.

- Corner of Coldstream Road near the Arc entrance.

- Junction of Gowrie Place and Weston Drive.

These applications will be heard in the next few months and, if agreed, will be actioned later in 2019. The objective with this work is to improve safety by reducing dangerous and inappropriate parking.

Many road signs have been renewed around The Village especially at the junction of Guards Avenue and Brigade Place in order to improve safety. New parking restriction signs have been erected in Grenadier and Gowrie Place and subject to planning it is hoped to have a new sign near the entrance to The Village providing directions to the key facilities.

Finally, following last year’s AGM it was agreed to progress the implementation of a 20 MPH speed limit around The Village. This is proving a more complex process than expected and in order to gain agreement from Surrey Highways there is a need to carry out average speed checks at various locations.

It is hoped to complete this work and have the application submitted as soon as possible. Watch this space!
