The VA held their Directors meeting on Thurs 15th August. The following headline topics were discussed...

General maintenance projects inside The Village

This included the planning of necessary repairs to the Southern boundary wall during September/October - along with updates on bins, car park repairs and upgrades to signage.

Speed limits

The Directors discussed ways to control vehicle speeds within The Village. The on-going Speed Limit project includes plans for appropriate warning signs to be installed around The Village.

Bus route signage

Clear signage for the bus route is under consideration to reduce blockages as a result of inconsiderate parking.

Wardens / Anti-social behaviour

A detailed risk assessment covering the personal safety of the Wardens has been completed. As a result improvements have been introduced to ensure the most safe and effective working environment for the Wardens.

The Warden service and the Police are in regular communication and The Village CCTV network is fully operational. The VA continues to lobby Tesco to introduce a speed limit within their car park.

Tree works

Following the tree survey research, work on priority trees will start week commencing 23rd Sept. Details will be communicated on the VA website.

AGM preparations

The planning and preparation for the VA AGM meeting was discussed. It is anticipated that the AGM will take place towards the end of November. Details to be communicated in the upcoming Autumn newsletter and directly to VA Members through Hazelvine.

The VA aims to operate as transparently as possible and welcomes any residents comments by email to office@thevillageassociation.org
