AGM Meeting Summary 2019

The Village Association (VA) held their AGM on Wed 26th Nov at Elizabeth Court Care Home.

The meeting was chaired by Jon Forde, supported by the other VA Board Directors. Members of the Hazelvine team and the Warden service were also on hand to field questions.

Jon gave a comprehensive overview of many of the headline projects and focus areas that the VA have been involved with during 2019. These included

  • Wardens / Anti-social Behaviour

  • Parking / Roads

  • CBCT

  • Maintenance & Repair Work

  • Resident Engagement

Jon went on to present the VA’s key focus areas in 2020, which included

  • Wardens and a review of the recent double manning

  • The development and implementation of the maintenance capex plan

  • Parking projects

  • Bins – domestic and public

  • Engagement with local organisations including Tesco and Tandridge Joint Action Group

  • CBCT relationship and holding them to account for their responsibilities towards residents and their assets

Simon Nunn, VA Business Director, presented the VA service charge accounts for the year ending 2018, and the service charge budget for 2020.

The voting on resolutions took place and Andrew Buchan was re-elected to the Board.

The Board then took and responded to questions from the floor relating to

  • Parking and road markings

  • Bins – domestic and public

  • CCTV

  • Street lighting

  • Bus stop repairs

  • Tesco relationship and responsibility especially around use of the carpark as a racetrack

The Wardens received appreciation from the floor for their for their work and professionalism, especially for their work in a number of recent events. Redacted Body Worn Video and CCTV footage was available for attendees to view showing some of the challenges faced and the quality of audio and images captured. The work of the Acacia gardening team was also acknowledged and thanks given for their continued work and commitment to the development ahead of their contract being extended from 1 January 2020.

The meeting was attended by around 33 residents and the VA thank all those who came for their engagement, feedback and support.

The VA also thank the staff and residents of Elizabeth Court Care Home for hosting the event.
