To report an emergency which requires a prompt police response such as an immediate danger to life, a crime is in progress or violence is being used or threatened, please call the police on 999.To report a situation which does not require an immediate police response but does require police attention, please call 101.

Call the wardens afterwards to tell them what has happened and let them know that you've already called the Police. In order to track investigations and build cases, the Police issue crime reference numbers when crimes are reported.
