In response to what is felt to be ill-informed & offensive comments made towards the Village Wardens on another local Facebook group the Village Association (VA) wants to clarify the situation regarding events which took place within the Village development last Saturday.

There were a number of associated incidents which occurred between a small number of youths and the Village Wardens during the day, this included verbal abuse towards residents, threats to cause criminal damage and a threat to cause actual bodily harm to the Wardens.

All incidents have been reported to the Police and footage captured by the Wardens body worn cameras has been supplied as part of the investigation. If anyone has any information or witnessed any of the events on Saturday, then we ask that they please report these to the Police using Crime Reference P20020039.

The Warden service is there to protect the safety and security of residents, property and users of the Village and will respond to all instances of anti-social behaviour and will continue to intervene when it feels necessary and safe to do so.

The VA will not engage in such Facebook reporting or commentary and instead will await the outcome of the Police investigation. It will however take action where it can when slanderous and derogatory comments are made about the Wardens and its service.
